The prestigious Hiroshi Contemporary Japanese restaurant will be hosting its third annual Omakase event from October 1 – 6, for a select number of guests and members at the distinguished Hotel Mousai. Guests staying at Garza Blanca are also extended the invitation to this prestigious master feast. The culinary spectacular has garnered the attention of gastronomical connoisseurs around the world with its annual invitation of master chefs and award worthy menu selections.
For those new to this flavor filled, chef’s table experience, the particulars of the custom are held in the definition of Omakase. The Japanese word stems from the verb to entrust and has now been delegated to menus across Japan for those who wish to order the chef’s choice.
Omakase at Hiroshi is culinary perfection as special guest Master Chef Hiroshi Shima has come to create, alongside Head Chef Carlos Leyva, a multicourse menu designed to invigorate and tantalize even the most discerning food critic.
Chef Shima trained with culinary masters throughout Kyoto for 15 years before migrating to Los Angeles to infuse his style with that of the western world. Fourteen years later, he became the Executive Sushi Chef for Sushi Roku, overseeing all seven restaurants throughout Hollywood, and now he is an esteemed chef worldwide.
Each night of this journey into east Asian gourmet fusion will bring two sittings, one at 6:30 and one at 8:30. Only 40 seats will be available at each, so early reservations are essential. The cost for the Omakase Menu is $129 USD, per person.
Though the gem of this event is the inspired menu creations with expertly blended drink pairings, there are two other planned moments that take this vacation to the height of dining veneration.
On October 2nd, the Orange Deck will host a private, members-only cocktail party to introduce the renowned chefs allowing an opportunity to discover trade secrets, insights on Japanese culinary tradition, a hint at the events to follow and a private moment to converse with epicurean masters. Members of both Hotel Mousai and Garza Blanca are invited to attend.
For those with discriminate tastes and a passion for sake, a small workshop will be held on October 3rd at the terrace in the Hiroshi restaurant. Antonio Torres, the senior beverage coordinator for both resorts, will share with a limited 20 guests his intimate knowledge surrounding the customs, flavors and brands of fine sake. He will also demonstrate select cocktail blends. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will also be included at the tasting workshop. Availability for this addition to the event will fill up quickly, so make a reservation as soon as possible.
To be taken away by unprecedented flavors that defy the boundaries of Asian cuisine and take food profiles beyond their limits, allow these amazing chefs to create a dining experience that will be remembered for a lifetime. Reserve your table now: http://www.hotelmousai.com/omakase-experience.
