Hotel Mousai has just received the AAA Five Diamond Award for the fifth year in a row! We are extremely proud of this accomplishment, and also proud to say that we are still the only Five Diamond hotel in the entire state of Jalisco! The Diamond Certificate Rating System
The travel company AAA has a Diamond Certificate rating system in which they provide guidelines to hotels and to consumers. The five different AAA Diamond Levels describe the kind of experience that AAA members can expect when they visit a particular hotel. This is an important way to communicate with hotel guests the level of comfort they will find when they arrive.
According to AAA, you can think of each additional Diamond on the scale as an indicator of more extensive services and amenities, on a scale from no-frills to highly personalized. One Diamond means a bed, a pillow and a bargain. Two Diamonds means a familiar, casual, affordable setting. Three Diamonds delivers the “comforts of home, minus the effort.” Four Diamonds provides a notable splurge for a special occasion. And Five Diamonds means the crown jewel, the ultimate luxury experience. If you stay at a Five Diamond hotel, you can expect the very best of the best – a super comfortable, top luxury stay with impeccable service.
Properties earn the AAA Five Diamond rating following multiple unannounced evaluations, including anonymous overnight stays and final review by a panel of experts. Each year AAA reviews more than 27,000 hotels, and only 0.4 percent make the Five Diamond list, so the fact that Hotel Mousai has earned Five Diamonds for five years in a row is a very big achievement.
AAA’s Diamond rating system covers the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. A total of only 121 hotels throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean received the AAA Five Diamond Rating in the past 12 months.

Hotel Mousai is the only Five Diamond rated hotel in the Puerto Vallarta area and moreover, is the only Five Diamond rated hotel in our entire state. Only one hotel has maintained the Five Diamond Rating for 43 consecutive years, since 1976 when the Diamond Ratings were rst introduced: The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. Fourteen additional hotels have maintained the Five Diamond Rating for 25 or more years.
Hotel Mousai is a relative newcomer to the list of industry greats, receiving our first Five Diamond award in 2015, but we strive to be the very best every year and continue to provide top luxury to our guests. It fills us with joy to see our efforts being acknowledged! We hope to continue in this tradition for many years to come, and our managers are on task to make sure that happens.
