The Five Diamond Hotels List is a handy list that AAA provides in PDF format and promotes to its members. This list lets travelers know where all of the very best hotels in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean are located.
All of the hotels on the Five Diamond List have been evaluated by AAA inspectors and have earned the AAA Five Diamond Award.
What is the Five Diamond Award?
The Five Diamond Award is a distinction that is awarded by AAA to the very highest quality luxury hotels in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
In order to earn the Five Diamond Award, hotels must pass a rigorous evaluation that includes unannounced, in-person inspections, anonymous overnight stays, and a review by a panel of experts.
The Five Diamond Award is the top-level award that AAA offers, and it is given to only 0.4 percent of the nearly 27,000 hotels inspected each year.
