Countdown to the Grand Opening of Hotel Mousai’s South Tower

The countdown has begun to the most highly-anticipated resort grand opening of 2021: Hotel Mousai’s South Tower. The opening of the brand-new tower at Hotel Mousai in Puerto Vallarta is scheduled for December so get ready to be impressed!

Hotel Mousai is a luxury resort brand owned by TAFER Hotels & Resorts, a 100% Mexican company that has carved its own niche in the luxury hospitality sector and has a global vision of expansion. TAFER will invest more than $240 million USD in 2021 alone and will close the year with a total of 4,000 hotel rooms, suites, and penthouses available across its prestigious brands: Hotel Mousai, Garza Blanca, Villa del Palmar Cancun, Sierra Lago, and Sian Ka’an Village. By 2026, that number is expected to double to 8,000 keys together with its new “Management Services” division.

Because First Impressions Matter

Hotel Mousai’s South Tower is only a few meters from the original Hotel Mousai North Tower and will double the number of rooms available at this exclusive adults-only resort from 73 to 145, so that even more guests can enjoy the exceptional facilities, amenities and services available. The two towers will share facilities, which will serve to enhance the overall guest experience for visitors staying at both the North and South Towers.

From the moment you arrive, you will be dazzled by the details of the brand-new Mousai. First, you’ll cruise through the circular motor lobby, step out of your car, and receive a cordial greeting from the bellboys as you peer out the 8-meter-high glass viewpoint overlooking the spectacular jungle of the Sierra Madre mountains.

You’ll step into the grand lobby to check in, and you’ll notice its double height ceilings and striking black, white, and gold theme immediately. The lobby of the South tower is a complement to the original Mousai lobby with its giant chess pieces, modern furniture, and high contrast wow factor, but slightly remixed. The elegant decor makes a statement, but more important is the level of service you will receive during your stay. As the only AAA 5 Diamond-rated resort in the state of Jalisco, the highest level of service is top of mind to everyone at Hotel Mousai.

The 360° Lounge Bar is next to the lobby, and it has an inviting rectangular-shaped bar perfect for making connections. Instrumental musicians play soft, soothing sounds as a backdrop for an evening of enjoying a specialty cocktail and relaxing. The Mousai Suite Experience

If the original Hotel Mousai is known for its cutting-edge design and high-tech suites, the new South Tower is its complementary equal. At the South Tower there are 68 Suites and 4 Penthouses. Each one features groundbreaking interior design, and Hotel Mousai’s daring and iconic colors: purple and red.

Both towers offer exactly the same suite categories, including: the Mousai Suite, the Mousai Corner Suite, the Ultra Mousai Suite, the Ultra Mousai Corner Suite, and the Penthouse.

The Mousai Suite is the smallest with 1,061 square feet including the terrace. The Mousai Corner Suite is slightly larger measuring 1,300 square feet with its expansive wraparound terrace. The Ultra Mousai Suites and Ultra Mousai Corner Suites, are the same size as the Mousai Suites and Mousai Corner Suites, but they are on the highest floors and come with exclusive privileges such as a dedicated butler, extra luxury toiletries, free access to the hydrotherapy circuit at the spa, a pillow and aromatherapy menu, and the best views guaranteed. The Penthouses measure over 1,500 square feet and feature an oversized terrace with a hydromassage tub as well as a fabulous living room and private bar.

One of the characteristics that differentiates the North and South towers is the addition of connecting rooms at Hotel Mousai’s South Tower. The One Bedroom suites and the Penthouses can connect with another suite to accommodate larger groups traveling together. The Penthouses at the South Tower connect with a Two Bedroom Suite which can now accommodate up to 8 guests whereas in the North tower, the maximum capacity of the Penthouse is 2 guests.

The new ultra-stylish Mousai South suites are just as appealing as the original Mousai suites, but with a fresh perspective. Like the North Tower, South Tower suites all have private terraces with hammocks and sun loungers, and spectacular ocean or mountain views, as well as jetted hydromassage tubs. The South Tower suites continue to push boundaries of design, wall art displays a deconstructed butterfly, hinting at the transformative power of nature, and chairs sculpted in the form of the lower half of a nude model make a statement. Art pieces are utilized to evoke emotion and the suite is furnished with exclusive pieces by Italian designers. The iconic Mousai colors play against the elegant gold and stainless-steel touches inviting guests into a sensual experience.

Mousai’s dominant décor is all about abstractions, the simulation of curves and geometric shapes, the use of colors with striking contrasts, that all go back to the muses, Mousai’s core concept, in a mystical way.

Every suite has black onyx twin vanities offering indirect light, the transparency of the onyx creates subtle light between the textures of the natural stone, having the effect of a big lamp.

The defining glory of all of Mousai’s suites, both North and South, are spacious terraces with a jetted hydromassage tub and hammock overlooking spectacular views of the lush jungle and the endless blue horizon.

DAO is the transition point between the North and South Mousai towers, the two towers are connected by a large bridge of more than 60 meters. DAO is a brand-new gourmet Chinese cuisine concept, with a cutting-edge design, which distinguishes this building from all the others.

The interior design maintains an oriental décor concept with an impressive double-height interior with Mondrian style glass walls. The dominant color scheme is red, symbolizing happiness and good fortune. DAO’s Hong Kong born Chef will take you on an exhilarating culinary voyage through China with a combination of ancient and contemporary techniques. NOI

NOI is Hotel Mousai’s brand new Italian restaurant, located next to the lobby. A modern take on a traditional Italian trattoria, NOI serves pizza and fresh pastas, as well as fine Italian plates. NOI’s double height ceilings and walls adorned with colorful artwork provide an interesting atmosphere, and its show kitchen lets guests watch their meals being prepared before their eyes.

The South Tower Rooftop
